She has worked extensively with governments, public sector institutions, and international development partners including UNDP, UNEP DTU, UNOPS, AFD, and the World Bank. Her work has spanned more than 18 African countries as well as the Middle East, where she has successfully led multi-stakeholder engagements and high-stakes advisory assignments.

As a former Senior Manager at PwC, Jaya led high value projects in climate change, social protection, disaster preparedness, and recovery planning impacting more than 14M+ citizens. She played a pivotal role in shaping policy and reform initiatives, serving as an advisor to government ministries and the Prime Minister’s Office on social security and environmental reforms. Her cross-sectoral insights and strategic leadership have made her a trusted advisor in managing national development and resilience agendas.

Alex is an international development professional, with an academic background in economics and development economics, and over 15 years of experience as a project manager and economist, with extensive experience working in the Asia-Pacific region.  He specialises in public sector management and governance, with expertise in public financial management, disaster risk finance and insurance, investment climate and trade, and financial sector development

He has worked for over 30 years across the interface of public and private sectors and alongside sovereign ministries of finance and economic development, catastrophe risk markets, hazard and risk modelling agencies, regional, national and sub-national disaster risk management agencies, bi- and multi-lateral development agencies, humanitarian, climate and conservation NGOs, national science agencies, and academia.

Simon has practical experience working in and/or with most countries in the Americas, many countries and regional institutions in Africa and the Pacific, and multiple countries in Asia and Europe, with a particular focus on DRF in the small island states of the Caribbean and Pacific.

She holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the University of Cape Town and is a Registered Professional Engineer. Her work includes the development and implementation of climate and sustainable finance frameworks, as well as contributions to early-stage assessments aimed at identifying sectoral vulnerabilities to inform preparedness and response.

Aumashvini has worked with government agencies, multilateral organisations, and financial institutions to align investments with climate goals and improve access to climate finance.

He then moved to Paris where he worked as a contract manager for gas sourcing, first for Eastern Europe and then for Northern Europe. Those years gave him the chance to dive deep into the electricity and gas markets, along with the financial products that surround them.

After 20 years in Europe, he decided to return to Comoros, where he joined ARC Ltd as country focal point for the REPAIR program. Being part of REPAIR is a source of pride and motivation for Ali as the program addresses very real, tangible challenges — and most importantly, delivers real impact for the people.

As country focal point, he acts as the link between ARC Ltd, the World Bank, the Ministry of Finance, and the local distribution channels. He also oversees and manages the program on the ground — from planning and coordination to execution and reporting.

He has worked in over 15 countries, including Madagascar, Niger, Senegal, Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, collaborating with national governments, regional institutions, and international partners including the World Bank, AFD, the African Development Bank, the EU, and the ILO.

He has held senior consulting positions, notably as Partner at FTHM Consulting, and as a recurrent short-term consultant for the World Bank’s Finance, Competitiveness, and Innovation (FCI) Global Practice. His areas of expertise include institutional diagnostics, organizational development, strategic planning, project design and evaluation (mid-term, final, ex-post), business model development, public sector reform, and risk governance.

Hugo also has significant experience in leading sector studies, developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogue processes. He has worked extensively on climate resilience and inclusive finance, including evaluations of the resilience of MSMEs to climate shocks and support to financial inclusion initiatives targeting women entrepreneurs (We-Fi Code).

Fidel has work experience in business development at BASF in Germany, through Afrika kommt fellowship. He holds a master’s degree in environmental protection from the University of Belgrade (Serbia) and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering at Eduardo Mondlane University (Mozambique).

Additionally, he is a certified expert in microfinance from Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. Fidel is a REPAIR Focal Point for Mozambique, supporting Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders on coordinating program implementation and capacity building in the country.

He has previously held senior roles with Democracy Works Foundation, where he oversaw USAID-funded governance programmes, and African Risk Capacity Ltd, where he managed a USD 11 million grant portfolio and contributed to securing significant climate resilience funding.

As Programme Director at Concentric Alliance, Shannon led complex initiatives focused on human rights due diligence, ESG compliance, and stakeholder engagement, particularly within the mining and renewable energy sectors. Shannon has also served as an independent consultant, supporting clients in both the private and public sectors with conflict sensitivity, grievance mechanisms, and stakeholder engagement strategies.

Shannon’s expertise spans the design and implementation of grievance redress mechanisms, alignment with international standards such as the IFC Performance Standards and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and development of theory of change frameworks and monitoring systems. He led the evaluation of the World Bank’s Compliance Advisor Ombudsman’s dispute resolution process and designed training programmes on ESG compliance and stakeholder engagement for multinational firms and government stakeholders.

He has worked with the Indian Ocean Commission, European Union, Agence française de développement and the World Health Organization on a variety of projects ranging from the promotion of renewable energies in rural regions to green finance products for Mauritian companies.

Roman is an international disaster risk management and agricultural insurance expert with over 15 years of experience developing climate-resilient financial solutions across four continents. Based in Sydney, Australia, he specializes in disaster risk assessment, agricultural policy analysis, and the application of satellite remote sensing for disaster risk management and agricultural insurance. Roman has extensive experience working with major international development organizations. He has led agricultural insurance program development and climate risk assessments in over 25 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean, with particular expertise in designing government-supported insurance schemes for smallholder farmers.

His African experience includes work in Egypt, Tanzania, Kenya, Sierra Leone, and Malawi, where he has analyzed agricultural sectors, developed crop insurance products, and provided technical assistance on disaster risk financing solutions. As Rural Product Manager at Allianz Australia, Roman managed agricultural insurance portfolios worth up to USD75 million annually and pioneered the use of GIS mapping and satellite data for portfolio risk management.

Roman holds a Master’s degree in Linguistics and completed advanced studies in Agricultural Economics at the University of London. He is a published expert on agricultural index insurance, earth observation applications, and disaster risk finance, with recent publications for FAO, ADB, and USAID focusing on climate risk solutions for the agricultural sector.

Venetia has worked internationally since 1999 in the management of humanitarian responses, disaster risk management and emergency preparedness programs at national, regional, and global levels in both government and non-government sectors in over 30 countries, with an emphasis on first phase humanitarian response, real-time strategic program reviews, preparedness and operational training.

Her core competencies include contingency planning and preparedness, emergency needs assessments and coordination, intervention strategies, programme identification and set-up, UN liaison and influence, national disaster management, staff management, field team leadership, programme analysis and improvement, information management, transition strategies, and monitoring and evaluation. She is an experienced trainer and facilitator for capacity building, particularly in staff and partner development and is an active member of United Nations Disaster Assessment Coordination (UNDAC) globally deployable team (DFID / FCDO sponsored).

Patti has worked for more than 25 years as a technical expert and capacity builder at the intersection of development and international emergency preparedness. She has successfully supported the design and implementation of crisis management systems and disaster mitigation and preparedness for natural disasters, conflict and post-conflict settings, as well as outbreaks and health emergencies.

She has completed specific disaster management support projects and also integrated disaster resiliency considerations with multiple projects with the US Agency for International Development, the US Peace Corps, the World Bank, as well as bilateral and multilateral institutions and is fluent in both English and Portuguese.
