About the Scholarship

The ARC–GSSP Scholarship Programme supports outstanding African students pursuing advanced studies in actuarial science, risk management, and related disciplines that strengthen Africa’s resilience to climate change.

This initiative is a partnership between ARC Ltd. and the Global Shield Solutions Platform (GSSP)*, with the goal of preparing a new generation of leaders who will drive African solutions to African challenges.

* GSSP is managed by Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Its contributors are Denmark, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Ireland, the EU Commission and the Vulnerable Twenty (V20) Group of Finance Ministers.
 

Scholarship Benefits

  • Full tuition support for up to two years of postgraduate study

  • Access to leading African universities: ENSEA (Côte d’Ivoire), IFAGE (Senegal), University of Cape Town (South Africa)

  • Mentorship and career support

  • Internship placement through ARC and partner networks

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be citizens of an African Union member state

  • Hold a relevant undergraduate degree (actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, environmental management, risk management, etc.)

  • Have secured admission to one of the eligible universities

  • Commit to working in Africa for two years after graduation and completing a two-year internship

Preference will be given to candidates with relevant professional or volunteer experience.
